We appreciate new locally owned businesses. A few weeks ago I came across a little Mexican gourmet café. My friend and I originally went with the idea of having a snack but when we saw the menu we couldn’t simply order a few things to try. The food is home made and very good. The place is clean and tastefully decorated. If you like to try different foods don’t forget to visit La Tiendita on 124 Dundas St.W in Whitby and support your local merchants as they are important for our economy.

 

Now back to shoes…we are getting new products like Glitzy Pets from Stride Rite, Bogs and more. We now have a great selection of winter boots for those parents that like to plan ahead from brands like Sorel, Geox, Cougar and Kamik. Also, new brands for our snow boots are Timberland and Keen. All of our winter boots are waterproof not water resistant.

I though I talk a little about how we fit shoes. We usually find that parents (I used to be this way) focus on the sizes when shopping for shoes for their kids. However, there is more to it than just getting the right size. The child''s width, instep, heel and more will definitely be factors in the size chosen. Also, every brand and style will fit different in every child.

At Kiddie Kobbler Whitby, we focus on making sure the shoes will fit properly, not only by what the child is measuring but also we pay attention to the factors mentioned above. This also helps us recommend the best shoe for your child. Sometimes the shoe that you and your child like the most will not be a good fit for him/her. It could be that either that particular shoe is fitting wide, narrow or we can go with totally different sizes for different brands as some of them may fit small or big.

I hope this gives you an idea of what we have to take into account when we fit a child. We love having kids over and by them trying on the shoes we can definitely make sure they get the right fit.
